Crusaders came from behind to overcome the Premiership basement club at Seaview on Saturday.
Shane Dolan's deflected shot gave Rangers a third-minute lead but the Crues drew level when Declan Caddell headed in from a David Gibson cross.
David Bell was the unfortunate Carrick player who headed into his own net from a free-kick on 57 minutes.
Crusaders sealed the points when Aidan Watson's fine strike hit the top corner with 16 minutes left.
