Ayr United 0-0 Morton
Last updated on .From the section Football
Ayr United were held at home by Morton as both sides claimed a vital point in their battle against relegation.
The visitors came close after 13 minutes, but Andy Graham failed to direct his header on target from inside the six yard box.
Michael McGowan wasted an opportunity to test Alan Combe moments later, but the midfielder drilled his free-kick straight into the wall on the edge of the box.
The hosts upped the tempo after the break and Combe was in fine form to deny Keigan Parker and Mark Roberts.
Michael Moffat had one final chance to snatch all three points in the closing stages, but Combe stood firm to ensure his side went home with their share of the spoils.
Ayr remain two points ahead of second-bottom Raith Rovers with a game in hand, with Morton four points ahead.
