Cowdenbeath 4-1 Dumbarton

A Marc McKenzie brace helped Cowdenbeath extend their lead at the top of Scottish Division Two to seven points as the Blue Brazil dispatched Dumbarton.

McKenzie put Cowdenbeath ahead on 19 minutes with a neat, close-range finish before Lewis Coult's cultured effort found net to double the home team's advantage 10 minutes later.

Dumbarton halved the arrears when Craig Dargo's 20-yard effort was too good for Thomas Flynn in the Cowdenbeath goal.

But any hopes of a Sons comeback were extinguished within five minutes, Joseph Mbu's precise header converting Scott Linton's cross to restore the two-goal cushion for the hosts.

McKenzie grabbed his 12th goal of the season nine minutes from time as his smart finish from Jon Robertson's cross exorcised the disappointment of last weekend's draw with Stenhousemuir and condemned Dumbarton to a fourth straight defeat.
