Albion Rovers 1-0 Cowdenbeath
Albion Rovers boosted their hopes of avoiding relegation after Jack Werndly's seventh-minute goal earned a surprise home win over Second Division leaders Cowdenbeath.
Werndly was on the scoresheet in Rovers' recent win at Stenhousemuir and scored his second goal in as many games when he fired into the top corner following Anthony Stevenson's assist.
Second-bottom Rovers took their one-goal lead into half-time but were lucky to still be ahead after 50 minutes when Scott Linton volleyed over from close range.
Two minutes later, the Wee Rovers had goalkeeper Derek Gaston to thank as he blocked Marc McKenzie's six-yard effort.
Lewis Coult thought he had brought Cowdenbeath back into the game after 74 minutes.
However, his looping header was again kept out by Gaston, with Paul Martin's side holding on for their third win in five games.
The Coatbridge side are now a point behind third bottom Forfar Athletic, who lost at Dumbarton.
Despite the defeat, the Blue Brazil retain their seven-point lead at the top thanks to second-top Arbroath losing 3-2 at home to Brechin City.
