Braintree Town 0-1 York

Erik Tonne's second-half strike saw York City win at Braintree to seal their place in the Blue Square Bet Premier play-offs.

Braintree were reduced to 10 men in the first half when Sean Marks, who had already been booked, was sent off for fouling Paul Musselwhite.

Tonne put the Minstermen in front when he fired a shot past Iron keeper Nathan McDonald from the edge of the area.

York are four points clear of sixth-placed Kiddderminster with a game left.

'Magnificent' effort delights Mills

York City manager Gary Mills told BBC Radio York:

"I'm delighted. You know we're in the playoffs, it's again another magnificent effort by the players. Absolutely superb.

"We had to be patient again, but that's us. If we are patient we know we can score a goal.

"I thought from the very first whistle today we were at it."
