Harrogate Town boss Weaver wants positive approach

Simon Weaver

Harrogate Town manager Simon Weaver has urged his players to remain positive about avoiding relegation after a 2-2 draw at Colwyn Bay.

Town twice came from behind as Alex Meecham and Chib Chilaka cancelled out goals from Mike Lee and Frank Sinclair for the home side.

Weaver told BBC Radio York: "We need a win now.

"Today was a massive opportunity to with the game because I thought we were the better team."

Harrogate are one point above the Blue Square Bet North relegation zone with two games to go.

Weaver added: "We wanted the three points.

"I think we've been playing well and we wanted to get three points and get above them and get above them in the goals column as well.

We need to grit it out - Weaver

"I think in chances and possession and territory we were the better team. Everything but the scoreline.

"I had a really big go at them at half time.

"They're a nice bunch of lads but I want more.

"I thought if we took the game to them we'd win but I thought we were holding back.

"It took a few players 15 or 20 minutes to get the nerves out of their system."
