Bournemouth have punished Donal McDermott for missing the coach for the trip to Bury last weekend, but say they will help the 22-year-old.
McDermott, who signed for the Cherries in January from Huddersfield, has made 11 appearances since his arrival.
In March the winger was arrested for drink-driving and fined by the club.
"I am not happy about the incident, but we have dealt with it and we have to move on," Cherries manager Paul Groves told BBC Solent.
Groves added: "He has to realise he has made a mistake and hopefully we can get the best our of him on the pitch and off it.
"If we can help him off-the-pitch, hopefully on the pitch he can start to realise his potential."
