League Two side Crawley Town have appointed Steve Martin as the club's new head of youth football.

The 44-year-old has previously spent time working in the academy set-ups at Championship outfit Portsmouth and Premier League club Stoke City.

He said: "I'm delighted to be working with such a progressive club.

"I want us to develop an even better reputation for nurturing young talent and this is a challenge I am very excited about."

Chief executive Alan Williams added: "We want to attract the best young talent in West Sussex and beyond to this football club.

"Steve's job, working with our existing coaching staff, will be to make this aspect of the club's football operation even stronger."
