Nathan Rooney wants to extend his stay at Telford into next season, provided that boss Andy Sinton still considers him part of his first-team plans.
Rooney, 19, who joined the Bucks from Wolves last summer, has 15 league appearances this term, scoring once.
"I enjoy it here," he told BBC Radio Shropshire. "I like it here but I've got to do what's best for a player.
"If there's going to be first-team football for me I'd be more than grateful to have that."
Rooney, one of a number of AFC Telford players without a contract for next season, says that the squad they have is good enough to push for a play-off place next year - after this season's mild flirtation with relegation.
"We're one of only five teams that are part time," added Rooney, "so I think we've done more than well to stay in the league.
"Hopefully we can push on next season. The play-offs are only round the corner for us. That's my personal opinion."
