Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Alan Navarro hopes to have his future resolved soon.
The 30-year-old, who made 39 appearances this season, is out of contract in the summer.
He told BBC Sussex: "I'll wait and see when the gaffer [Gus Poyet] wants to speak to me.
"I didn't want to bring negotiations into the camp when we were looking for promotion. Hopefully it'll happen soon. I want to see what's going on."
He added: "I think the gaffer might let me know sometime soon. We'll see."
Navarro was released by Poyet last summer after missing much of the season with a cruciate ligament injury.
However the former Liverpool trainee continued training with the Seagulls over the summer and signed a one-year deal in August.
"When I came back in pre-season I just wanted to get in the team," he added.
"It was hard at the start but I had a better second half of the season.
"Once you play games you get more confidence, get fitter and feel better about yourself."
