Chris Weale is Yeovil Town target, says Gary Johnson

Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson has revealed he wants to bring goalkeeper Chris Weale back to Huish Park.

The 30-year-old started his career with the Glovers and played 191 games for his home-town club.

He is out of contract at Leicester City in the summer and made only three appearances for the Foxes this season.

"Wealey would be great but I don't know his situation," Johnson told BBC Somerset. "He's been injured for some time but certainly he's on the list."

Weale left Yeovil in 2006 to join Bristol City, but made a brief return to Huish Park on loan three years later.

He then joined Leicester in 2009 but was displaced as first-choice keeper by Kasper Schmichael at the start of this season.

He was sent out on loan to League Two Northampton Town but only managed three appearances after suffering a knee injury.

And although Johnson would like to see him return to the Glovers, he admits money could be an issue.

"The finances they are on when they get to that level is three or four times more than us," he added.

"It would be a very expensive one if we were to bring him in, unless we can do a deal with him and he wants to come back home."
