Morecambe have completed the signing of former Scunthorpe United defender Andrew Wright on a free transfer.
He becomes Jim Bentley's second summer arrival, joining ex-Bradford full-back Robbie Threlfall at the Globe Arena.
Wright, 27, joined Scunthorpe in 2008 and played 102 matches for the Iron, although he ended last season on loan at non-league Grimsby Town.
"When I spoke to Jim, I was really impressed with what he had to say and I couldn't wait to sign," said Wright.
He told the club website: "I am really looking forward to pre-season and getting to meet all the lads. It's a new challenge for me and I'm really looking forward to it."
Bentley added: "We will be going with a smaller squad this season so I have to look to bring in players who can play in a number of positions and this one certainly fits the bill.
"He's got good experience, is a good age and an individual that comes highly recommended.
"I am looking at him mainly to play the holding midfielder role, but he has played in several other positions and will be a valuable addition to the side."
