Scunthorpe United boss Knill targets deal for Joe Widdowson

Scunthorpe United boss Alan Knill is looking to secure a deal for left-back Joe Widdowson.

The 23-year-old was released by Rochdale at the end of the season, having made 66 league appearances in two seasons at Spotland.

Knill told BBC Radio Humberside: "We've spoken to him and his agent and it went well, so we'll have to wait and see.

"We haven't talked about money but we'll make an offer and see if it's favourable to them."
