Former Middlesbrough chairman Colin Henderson dies

Former Middlesbrough chairman Colin Henderson, who steered the Teesside club through a liquidation crisis and then to successive promotions, has died at the age of 75.

He resigned in 1993 to be succeeded by current owner Steve Gibson.

Gibson said: "Middlesbrough Football Club would not have survived without Colin Henderson.

"When the club and the town needed a giant, Colin was the man. I liked him and respected him immensely."
