Preston North End cancel contract of defender Brian McLean

Preston North End have agreed to cancel the contract of defender Brian McLean.

The 27-year-old joined the League One club from Falkirk in August 2011 and made 18 appearances for North End.

But the Scot only featured once in the first team following the arrival of manager Graham Westley in January and was transfer-listed last month.

Westley subsequently told 21 players they were free to leave Deepdale and has added 12 new faces to his squad since the end of the season.
