Winger Paul Rutherford signs new Barrow contract

Winger Paul Rutherford has signed a new one-year deal with Barrow AFC.

The 24-year-old, whose previous contract expired at the end of last season, becomes the eighth player to commit himself to the club for 2012/13.

The Wirral-born, former Chester City player has made 144 appearances for the Bluebirds since joining the club for the 2009/10 season.

He was the man of the match when the Holker Street outfit won the FA Trophy at Wembley two years ago.

Rutherford joins goalkeepers Danny Hurst and Shaun Pearson, defenders Gavin Skelton, Mike Pearson and Matt Flynn, midfielder James Owen, and striker Adam Boyes as confirmed signings before Barrow's record fifth consecutive season at the top of the non-league pyramid.
