St Johnstone striker Stevie May has signed a one-year contract extension at McDiarmid Park.

The 19-year-old impressed on loan at Alloa Athletic in the second half of last season, helping the Wasps win the Irn-Bru Third Division.

May netted 19 goals and earned the Irn-Bru Third Division Player of the Year and Scottish Football League Young Player of the Year awards.

He has made 24 appearances for Saints, scoring three goals.

May opened his senior account as he made his first-team debut at the age of 16 in May 2009, as a substitute against Airdrie United in the First Division.

However, with Saints now in the Scottish Premier League, he only made one appearance last season, in the opening game, and was farmed out to Recreation Park in December.
