Doubles from Leanne Ross, Emma Mitchell and Jennifer Callaghan were added to by Ashley McDonald and Julie Melrose.
Celtic go second after a 5-2 win over third place Hibernian with goals from Hayley Cunningham (2), Suzanne Grant, Emily Thomson and Rhonda Jones.
Forfar are fourth in the table after a 2-1 win over Hamilton.
Aberdeen's 3-2 victory over Hutchison Vale secured their top-six place, but Rangers will play out the rest of their season in the bottom six as they finished in eighth at the midway split following a 2-2 draw with Spartans.
Kilmarnock remain bottom of the table after drawing 3-3 with Inverness, who sit four points above the Ayrshire side.
