Montrose recovered from conceding a early goal to comfortably overcome Highland League side Inverurie Loco Works in the opening round of the Ramsdens Cup.
Stuart Mackay had fired Inverurie ahead with a lovely right-foot shot from 20 yards in the 16th minute but Montrose drew level with a Paul Watson free-kick from just outside the penalty area after 28 minutes.
Martin Boyle struck from close range for Montrose on the hour mark and six minutes later Gary Wood drilled in from 12 yards.
Terry Masson then hit the home side's fourth goal from inside the penalty box 10 minutes from time.
Mark Souter scored a consolation goal for Inverurie from 12 yards after 88 minutes.
