Nuneaton sign Stephen O'Halloran and Robbie Thompson-Brown
Nuneaton Town have signed Republic of Ireland international defender Stephen O'Halloran following his end-of-season release by Carlisle United.
The twice-capped 24-year-old joined Carlisle on a one-year deal last summer after moving from Coventry City.
Prior to that he was at Aston Villa with whom he won his two caps.
Boro have also signed 19-year-old striker Robbie Thompson-Brown, who was previously on the books of Stratford Town and Kidderminster Harriers.
"Robbie is a young player whom we have seen on a number of occasions during the last year," said boss Kevin Wilkin. "He will bring options wide left or right."
As for the signing of O'Halloran, Wilkin grinned: "I cannot remember the last time we signed a former Premier League player with international experience.
"Steve is a welcome addition to the squad. His ability on the ball is second to none at this level, as is his reading of the game.
"Steve's qualities in the dressing room and around the club are just what we need as we really look to raise the bar this season."
Although never playing for Villa's first team, O'Halloran had loans during his time with the Premier League club at Wycombe Wanderers, Southampton, Leeds United and Swansea City.
