Sunderland can impress against Arsenal - Titus Bramble
Sunderland defender Titus Bramble says a positive result in Saturday's trip to Arsenal can reassure supporters after a disappointing pre-season.
Martin O'Neill's side have won only one of six friendlies, which included trips to South Korea and Sweden.
"If we go to Arsenal and get a good result, pre-season will be forgotten about," Bramble told BBC Newcastle.
"The last couple of games we've done well there so hopefully we can go there on Saturday and do well."
Bramble added: "Results don't matter in pre-season, it's about getting minutes under our belt.
"A lot of the lads have got minutes under the belts, so that's a positive."
Despite losing 2-1 thanks to a Robin Van Persie brace in last season's trip to the Emirates, the Black Cats have secured a point in two of their last four visits to the capital.
In addition they beat the Gunners 2-0 on home turf in the FA Cup last term.
Meanwhile Saturday's encounter brings the possibility of a reunion between the Sunderland squad and former loanee Nicklas Bendtner, who netted eight goals in 30 games at the Stadium of Light last term.
"Anytime you involve Nick it's going to be interesting," Bramble added.
"He's got great ability, on his day he's a top, top player so hopefully he'll have one of his off-days.
"We'll worry about our game and that's all we can think about."
