Ross County target deal for Derek Riordan
Ross County hope to arrange a deal for former Hibernian and Celtic forward Derek Riordan.
The 29-year-old was with St Johnstone for a brief period at the end of last season after an unhappy spell with Chinese club Shaanxi Chan-Ba.
Riordan is the third highest scorer in Scottish Premier League history.
Staggies manager Derek Adams told BBC Scotland that there has been dialogue with Riordan's agent, but he has yet to speak to the player.
Most of Riordan's 95 SPL goals came during his two spells with Hibs, with only prolific Old Firm pair Kris Boyd and Henrik Larsson having netted more since the top flight was formed in 1998.
Capped three times for Scotland, the forward moved to Shaanxi Chan-Ba under freedom of contract last summer but his two-year arrangement was terminated in November.
After training with Kilmarnock and Blackpool in January, he signed a short-term deal at St Johnstone at the end of March but only managed two starts for the Perth club.
County have started their first ever SPL campaign with two goalless draws.
