St Mirren manager Danny Lennon could add a new left-back to his squad before the transfer window closes this week.

The unnamed player from overseas will have a trial before Friday's deadline.

"We will have a wee look at him, but I am delighted at the squad we have here," said manager Danny Lennon after the 1-1 draw with Motherwell.

"With us being a little bit reduced, with Grant Adam being out and Darren McGregor's misfortune last week, we have to make sure we have enough."

Defender McGregor's cruciate ligament injury, sustained during last week's 2-1 defeat by Hibernian, meant Lennon's side had to re-organise ahead of the trip to Fir Park.

The visitors fell behind early on when Michael Higdon netted against his former club but Thomas Reilly netted an injury-time equaliser to claim a point for the Buddies.

"It was absolutely terrific to see wee Thomas Reilly get on the scoresheet and get his first goal in St Mirren colours.

"And that's what we're about at St Mirren - developing the young players as well as the mature ones.

"Motherwell got off to a fantastic start in the first minute and I thought the reaction from our boys was excellent.

"Sometimes, a goal can set you back, but we certainly took the game to them, we created one or two opportunities without that vital ingredient - the all-important goal.

"The message to them at half-time was to keep the same momentum and accuracy of the short passing going and we did.

"We managed to get into the final third and, with the pressure we put upon them, I was delighted to get one at the end.

"We asked questions of the players last week and they answered that."
