Matt Green's penalty in first-half injury-time set Mansfield Town on their way to a routine win over Tamworth.
Green coolly slotted home after he was brought down in the area by Scott Barrow to give the Stags the advantage after a scrappy opening 45 minutes.
Mansfield started to get on top in the second half and always looked like extending their lead.
And the hosts eventually doubled their lead in the 62nd minute when Luke Jones headed home from close range.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Mansfield Town manager Paul Cox told BBC Radio Nottingham:
"Over the 90 minutes we were resolute and organised. It is probably one of our better performances this season.
"There's still plenty more we can get better at and things we can improve on, but it's a foundation to build on and hopefully we can build from there.
"I thought that when we needed to we defended as a team and that was really important."
