You can find 'dirty' players even in the best footballing teams, Roy Keane in Utds treble winning side, Viera in 'the invincibles' side, Puyol for Barcas 'greatest ever' club side. Doesn't make them bad footballers, yet again the Anti-Stoke Brigade latch on to the negatives. Truth be told, enviable Stoke City stay in the black and continue to progress year on year. How many clubs can say that?!
When promoted all of the clever pundits out there predicted we'd be straight back down and never be able to cut it with all the premier league super clubs and their premadonna stars.........Well like it of not we're still here, have never been involved in a relegation battle, have made it to an FA cup final and into europe where we did very well too...we'll play how we like
Charlie Adam will fit nicely into the Stoke midfield .He had nine bookings in his first season in the EPL with Blackpool andwasn't shy ateither Rangers or Liverpool . Twice he has clobbered Gareth Bale with poor tackles that could cause serious injury and will mix it with the best of em ! Stoke should apply to play rugby league , sooner they're relegated the better in my book .
Philosopotter - "we only play 'anti-football' against the top sides". Really?? Liverpool finished 8th last year, thats pretty much mid table and the way way stoke played when they came to anfield last season was ridiculous, if they had bothered to try and win the game they might well have taken all 3 points. I would hate to see how much more negative they got against the champions league sides....
Stoke/Pulis love the 'kick and rush' tag - they are a long way from it and there are many who've found out the hard way that they can just as easily pass you to defeat. For Rodgers to spout about a game of 'possession & short passing', then sell Adams whilst retaining Downing/Henderson is farcical. Good Luck to CA. At least your shots were on target, unlike those of the numpties you've left behind
Chelsea "played like Stoke" in the latter stages of the Champion's League, and did rather well... Moreover, Stoke are not entirely one-dimensional. What they do is play tactically adaptive football, more fluid and attack-oriented when evenly matched, more structured and defensive when outmatched - an intelligent style, to be honest... and one that keeps them in the EPL, year after year...
OK so stoke don't play like United,City or Chelsea but then again Stoke didn't spend hundreds of millions on players in the last few years and are not tens or more millions in debt like some other clubs.
A good way to make money is to bet on Stoke bookings .Kick and rush side , with a "we will survive" attitude. Watch Stoke defenda corner , they are the worst in the EPL for negative tatics.Wilkinson , Shawcross , Whelan , Huth ,and most of the others willkick anything that moves. They might be mainly British , but i certainly wouldnt pay to watch em
It's frustrating how many people, not just WUMs, think Stoke are a 'hoofball' or 'rugby' team or 'anti-football'. Like fourfather said, we only play 'anti-football' against the top sides - a decent tactic. Sadly, these people will only watch Stoke play against top sides. It's a shame they then take this and just decide that's how we play in all of our games. It's not.But yeah, good signings :-)
After years of poor ownership, woeful management and under investment SCFC have attained PL status and held on to it against ALL expectations. Though rightly proud of what we have done so far, these latest signings are further proof that the club recognises its shortcomings and is seeking to improve as a whole. These are great days for The Potters.

Stoke are no longer just a 'throw in' or 'hoof it up' side, they haven't been for a couple of seasons at least. Pulis tries to play football unless they're up against one of the top sides, when he will use 'anti-football' tactics. It gets more points than trying to outplay some of the best teams in the world, it's just common sense!
Good signings for Stoke. Will no doubt fight for the stoke cause. I think Nzonzi will be better than pennant. Adam should be starter instead of whitehead who is quite poor...Stoke just need that little fire upfront as Crouchy, Jerom and Walters aren't providing the goods. Maybe Berbabtov would have done the job
