Wolves cancel Nenad Milijas contract by mutual consent

Nenad Milijas has left Wolverhampton Wanderers by mutual consent.

The 30-year-old midfielder had one year remaining on his deal at Molineux, but has failed to make an appearance under new manager Stale Solbakken.

Wolves Chief Executive Jez Moxey told the club website: "The manager had told Nenad that his opportunities were going to be very limited this season.

"As a result, we have reached mutual agreement on the cancellation of his contract."

Moxey added: "He is therefore free to pursue other options and leaves with the best wishes of everyone at the club."

Milijas joined Wolves from Red Star Belgrade in 2009, following their promotion to the Premier League.

The Serbian international went on to make 72 appearances for the club in three seasons, scoring nine times.

And following news of Bakary Sako's signing from St Etienne, Milijas has now been allowed to leave in order search for a new club before the transfer window closes on Friday.
