Godfrey Poku has returned to Southport on loan from Mansfield, having only moved to Field Mill in June.
The 22-year-old midfielder is yet to play a game for the Stags after his summer transfer from Luton Town.
Poku was a popular figure at Haig Avenue last season, playing 23 times in a loan spell with the Sandgrounders.
He is available to play for Southport, who picked up their first win of the season at Hyde in midweek, against AFC Telford United on Saturday.
Manager Liam Watson told the club website: "We all know Godfrey's style, determination and desire.
"He is a great signing for us and adds massive competition in the middle of the park. Everyone will be delighted to have Godfrey back."
