@473 Liverpool played the spanish way before when the spanish waiter was in charge (at least they won things then). Now they have got the ex-Chelski bottle boy in charge, so Elvan help them.
If Brendan Rodgers Wants Liverpool to Play the Spanish Way do they Need Strikers ?
Too many uninspiring players in this club and too many former greats like Gerrard past their best. Not inconceivable that they could be relegated given the strength of other BPL teams.
The way they play now just demonstrates what the loss of Kenny Dalglishmeans to the club (not that this will surprise many of the supporters).Failing to get a goalscorer may well be a massive problem for themthis season, just like not having a real one was last season.
The problem isn't a goalscorer it's just a mediocre team.
@kebabster75 - Completely agree with what you're saying. The situation baffles me.As for other team's fans having a dig - feel free. We haven't got half the problems facing some other teams at the mo, simply a bad few weeks. In a few weeks and after a few more points, this issue will be forgotten and we'll be discussing another non-story. The joys of football eh??
We have to give youth a chance. Fowler, Owen, Gerrard and Carra. Some of the best players we've ever had and they cost nothing. Although Adam Morgan can be a bit naive - in terms of getting pulled out of position by his willingness to track back - he has the right mentality and high work rate required to succeed at Anfield. Give him a decent run in the team as he is more than capable of producing.
The bit i like is the endless backing for Carroll from the press, it's hilarious. Heavens forbid that lad was born on a land beyond the UK, the press fall out over the return on his £35m outlay would deafen even the deaf.
I think it will be Yesil and Morgan coming in now and then up to January, and then, depending on how things have gone, either recall Carroll or sign somebody. But that signing will not be any of the players listed here.
Without a top draw goalscorer Liverpool should play more attacking players, or give youth a chance. The have some outstanding young players such as Suso, Sterling and from the looks of it Yesil. Play these prospects and build something rather than players such as Allen who is great at retaining posession but offers little going forward, Borini whos lightweight or Downing who is... well Downing...
I'd feel sorry for Rodgers but for the fact he resigned from Swansea, I honestly believe he had a better chance of silverware with the swans. Unless he bring half of the Swansea team with him but they may need to offer more than 3 mil..
why is it that Liverpool managers have something against centre forwards, Crouch, Torres, and now Carrol,, have all been dismissed to score goals for other clubs, none of the so called stars of Liverpool are performing,, perhaps in the long term Liverpool will get a goalscorer.
A few days ago after the "letter to the fans" it was mentioned about the owners wanted to buy for the future and not just a "short term fix" ie, Dempsey, the thing is...now we are looking at the Free Agent market to try and get us some goal scorers...is that not contradicting what they have said about a short term fix?! Will be interesting once the cup games start too...
How have they not gone for big Emile yet? He'd have scored at least a couple of the numerous sitters Suarez and Borini have fluffed.
