Stevenage 2-2 Bury

Substitute Mark Cullen secured a draw for Bury against Stevenage in Kevin Blackwell's first game in charge.

Tom Hopper looped a header over stranded Boro keeper Chris Day to give the visitors an unlikely lead.

Marcus Haber levelled after the break with a powerful back-post header, before Greg Tansey's curling effort from 25 yards put the hosts ahead.

But Cullen tapped in Hopper's square ball from close range with five minutes on the clock to earn his side a point.

Bury manager Kevin Blackwell told BBC Radio Manchester:

"We knew it was going to be tough because they play a certain style. They're big and strong, and I thought we coped with it well.

"I'm just disappointed that, in the end, we couldn't have come away with a win from a game that I think, overall, we shaded.

"I said to the players that they had to believe in themselves more. We had a little 10-minute spell where we switched off and we got punished for it.

"We're delighted to get back on the bus with that first point. The first thing you do is make sure you don't get beat and the lads have done that today."
