Guy Madjo's equaliser earned Plymouth a draw at Wycombe to leave Chairboys' caretaker player-boss Gareth Ainsworth still looking for a first win.
Ainsworth's cross led to the opening goal as he found Matt McClure in the box and he nodded the hosts in front.
But Madjo levelled when he headed past Wycombe goalkeeper Jordan Archer.
Argyle's Conor Hourihane hit the bar while at the other end Joel Grant's drive was saved as Wanderers were denied a second victory of the season.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Wycombe caretaker manager Gareth Ainsworth told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"I'm a very pleased, very proud, very tired caretaker manager.
"The lads gave everything, we all did as a team. We had a huddle at the end just to say 'this is the start now'.
"This is the start of our season. I haven't seen a performance like that down here for a while.
"A big thanks to my players - they were brilliant. If we continue to play like that we won't go far wrong."
