Lincoln City stay in a Blue Square Bet Premier relegation spot after a goalless draw at Mansfield Town.
Imps striker Jamie Taylor lit up a drab first half with a thunderous effort from 35 yards out which cannoned off the crossbar.
Early in the second period, Mansfield's Matt Rhead saw his header tipped over by Lincoln goalkeeper Paul Farman.
Imps defender Peter Gilbert also came close with a headed effort as both sides had to settle for the draw.
VIEWS FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
Lincoln City manager David Holdsworth told BBC Radio Lincolnshire:
"We always come for three points and we set up very positively, but this is a tough place and I'm delighted with a clean sheet.
"I thought we were very solid and I think that's been a long time coming.
"Individual errors have cost us quite a lot in games but tonight we stood firm against a high-profile front line, we were organised and in the right places at the right time.
"We showed intelligence in our defending and hopefully that's the start of a spell of clean sheets because we deserve more than we've had."
