Aberdeen are speaking to winger Ryan Fraser about signing an extension to the 18-year-old's contract.

The Dons also hope to secure the long-term futures of Fraser's team-mates, Cammy Smith, Nicky Low, Joe Shaughnessy and Jamie Masson.

All four are on the fringes of the first team and came through in the same youth side as Fraser.

The winger starred again as Aberdeen defeated Kilmarnock 3-1 at Rugby Park to move into third place in the table.

That performance came as he was named Clydesdale Bank Premier League young player of the month for September.

Dons manager Craig Brown, who said Fraser has more than a year of his contract still to run, confirmed that talks were under way with representatives of the five players.

Forward Smith has made four appearances this season, scoring once.

Midfielder Low and defender Shaughnessy have yet to feature this term but have already made their first-team debuts.
