Burton Albion 1-1 Port Vale

Port Vale failed to make it four straight wins in League Two but Ben Williamson stepped off the bench to salvage a point at Burton.

Calvin Zola twice went close with headers for the hosts before teeing up Matt Paterson who shot over.

Sheffield United loanee Jordan Chapell found the net though as his intended cross dropped in for a goal with his first ever touch in a Burton shirt.

But Williamson levelled, converting Jennison Myrie-Williams's low cross.

The 75th-minute strike means Vale have not lost in their last seven outings in all competitions.

Burton Albion manager Gary Rowett told BBC Radio Derby:

"Obviously we're disappointed to concede a goal after taking a slightly fortuitous lead. Robbie Weir would have been disappointed to lose the ball in the area he did, but he's been great for us so far.

"You would say that against a very good side, who are second in the league, a point is a good result that's not to be sniffed at.

"Calvin Zola had three or four good half-chances and maybe he'll feel he should have done better, but we created lots of chances and so I'm not too disappointed because the goals will come."
