Hinckley United hit by transfer embargo

Dean Thomas

Cash-strapped Hinckley United have been placed under a transfer embargo by the Football Conference over unpaid wages to their players.

The Knitters must find £6,000 of the money they owe to past and present staff to come out of their embargo but are confident their future is secure.external-link

The Blue Square Bet North club are currently without a manager following the resignation of Dean Thomas.

Thomas stood down last week after almost 16 years with the club.

Hinckley have a home match against Colwyn Bay on Saturday.
