Ben Hutchinson's early goal was enough for Mansfield Town to condemn struggling Southport to defeat.
Hutchinson fired the Stags in front when he turned home Nick Wright's ball into the box.
Shane Redmond was rarely threatened in the home goal, with Simon Grand heading wide the Sandgrounders' best chance.
Southport midfielder Andy Parry had to block shots from both Louis Briscoe and Jake Speight as the hosts eased to a comfortable victory.

Mansfield Town manager Paul Cox told BBC Radio Nottingham:
"Overall I'm pleased with it. We're starting to look like a team now rather than a bunch of individuals.
"They've been our bogey side over the last couple of years and I thought we played well today.
"We kept our shape, we kept our discipline and more importantly we looked very hungry again."
