Luton Town have signed midfielder Jonathan Smith on loan until 5 January from League Two side York City.
The 26-year-old joined York in the summer from Swindon Town, where he played a part in helping the Robins win promotion to League One last season.
He has made 13 appearances this term but has not started a game since a 0-0 draw with Cheltenham on 22 September.
"Jonathan was a player I tried to sign in the summer," Hatters boss Paul Buckle told the club website.
"He was keen though to stay in the Football League and we understood that but I'm thrilled we've been able to get him now.
"He played a major part in winning the title at Swindon so he gives us another winner in the squad."
