Alloa posted their seventh league win of the season with a 1-0 victory over second-bottom East Fife.
The visitors dominated in the opening stages and it wasn't long before they found themselves in front. Alloa midfielder Graeme Holmes struck on 32 minutes, blasting home from close range after a scramble in the box.
That Wasps lead was almost doubled on the stroke of half time when Darren Young went close, but his effort was well saved by Calum Antell in goal.
Alloa started the second half strongly, creating a number of chances as they looked seal victory.
The hosts' best opportunity to snatch a point came in the 89th minute when Jamie Pollock tried his luck from 20 yards, but his effort was caught by Alloa stopper Scott Bain.
