David Cotterill scored one and set up two as Doncaster eased past Carlisle.
Rovers went ahead when Rob Jones headed home Cotterill's corner, before the Wales international's spectacular curling shot made it 2-0.
David Symington's superb dipping free-kick reduced the arrears and gave the Cumbrians hope of a comeback.
But Tommy Spurr restored the visitors' two-goal advantage by glancing in Cotterill's free-kick from the right to make the points safe.

Doncaster Rovers manager Dean Saunders told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"This was the best we played all season, especially in the first half.
"Some of the football we played, it all seemed to click together. We could have gone three or four-nil up at one stage.
"But with the wind, they had some situations where inswinging balls were coming (into the box) and we had to deal with it."
