Grimsby 2-0 Tamworth

Craig Disley

Grimsby Town moved to the top of the Blue Square Bet Premier with a comfortable win against Tamworth.

Craig Disley put the Mariners ahead early on when he headed in from Scott Neilson's corner.

Ross Hannah made it 2-0 to the hosts six minutes after the break when he fired past Tamworth keeper James Severn from 12 yards.

The Lambs were then awarded a penalty but Adam Cunnington's spot-kick was saved by James McKeown.

VIEW FROM THE DRESSING ROOM

Grimsby Town joint manager Paul Hurst told BBC Radio Humberside:

"The fact that we've gone back top is pleasing in the respect that other teams have dropped points.

"The next game we know is going to be a really big game at Wrexham.

"Nothing will be won or lost in that game but it will be a good test for us."
