Derek Holmes' injury-time goal for Arbroath denied Forfar Athletic victory.
Neither side offered much going forward in scrappy first half.
The breakthrough came on 74 minutes when Dale Hilson fired into the net from the edge of the box.
But Holmes netted from close range to secure the visitors a draw.
