Irish Premiership: Linfield 2-1 Glentoran

Linfield hit two late goals to earn victory over 10-man Glentoran in a typically competitive Big Two Premiership derby at Windsor Park.

Glentoran's Stephen McAlorum was sent off after an off the ball incident on five minutes but Jay Magee headed the Glens into the lead 17 minutes later.

Elliott Morris made a series of magnificent saves but was eventually beaten by Mark McAllister on 75.

Substitute Ross Clarke then struck Linfield's winner four minutes later.

McAlorum received his marching orders after tangling with Michael Gault in the fifth minute.

The incident came after Linfield's Matthew Tipton had produced a late tackle on a Glentoran player.

As Linfield piled forward, Morris denied Jamie Mulgrew while Tipton headed against the woodwork before Brian McCaul fired two efforts wide.

However against the run of play, the Glens took the lead as Magee headed a Stephen Carson corner past Alan Blayney in the 22nd minute.

Linfield continue to dominate possession with Johnny Black inches wide from 35 yards and Gault then having an effort cleared off the line.

Morris continued to produce heroics after the break as he made further tremendous saves.

However, the champions did get on terms 16 minutes from time as McAllister drilled home from six yards after Morris had done well to parry a Watson header.

Within five minutes, the Blues were ahead as substitute Clarke stabbed home from close range after the brave Morris had blocked a Daryl Fordyce shot.
