Truro City can stay up, says manager Lee Hodges

Truro City boss Lee Hodges believes his side can survive in the Blue Square Bet South after their 2-2 draw at Dorchester Town.

Jake Ash got a last-minute equaliser for City, who are still 14 points from safety at the bottom of the table.

"I'd love us to be in this division come the end of the season, it is a big ask, but it is possible," Hodges said.

"We've competed and been involved in every single game," he told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"If we can get that bit of luck and rub of the green we'll turn those draws into victories and defeats into draws and we'll climb that table.

"Hopefully we can catch up and get close to those teams around us because the bunch of guys I have around us are outstanding and they deserve to stay in this division."

Dan Thomson opened the scoring after 20 minutes for Dorchester before Kieffer Moore equalised four minutes before half-time.

Ben Watson gave the Magpies the lead with 15 minutes to go before Ash's late equaliser.

"It sums up Truro as a whole, a never-say-die attitude and always compete to the end of the game," Hodges said.

"We got our just rewards, we dominated the first half, created a lot of chances and should have gone in a few goals up but it wasn't to be."
