Southend United have signed midfielder Marc Laird on an 18-month deal following his release by Leyton Orient.
The 26-year-old joined the Shrimpers on loan in October and has since featured 15 times, scoring twice.
"I've really enjoyed my time here at Southend and I'm delighted to have signed a permanent deal," he told the club website.
"I've got on well with all of the lads who have been fantastic to me during my time here so far."
Laird has already made more starts for Southend this season, than he did the whole of the last campaign for Orient.
"We're thrilled to have got Marc in because he's been excellent for us since he arrived on loan," said boss Paul Sturrock.
"He brings a lot to the table in midfield and he played a big role in our unbeaten run that we put together."
