I don't know why people keep talking about Celtic and Rangers going to the EPL - why would the EPL want a Scottish 3rd division team? Why talk about Rangers at all? - this was a Celtic-related article. Just goes to show that 80% of Rangers fans would actually be better described as Celtic-haters.As for Tom Slaford - Celtic's budget is 1/100th of Chelsea. What exactly is your point, nugget?
tomslaford - again commenting the same thing exactly on a scottish football thread, WHY? BBC please remove this posters account. Do you know you actually just repeat yourself on every scottish football article. you complete bafoon
Tomslaford is still obsessed. Every single day celtic celtic and more celtic. Obviously your team can't be holding your interest enough. You obviously don't have a memory. You keep posting the same things over and over. Sad child.
@68.... Chelsea beat Barca and Bayern (in thier stadium) last to WIN the CLCeltic have won the EC in 1967 ........ NOT the CL and they never will Enjoy 2 games v Juve then it is ICT in the Scottish Pub League 4 times a year ...... such fun !You must have a good memory grandad
celtic_craig123 I'm not sure I understand, when did Chelsea or ManC play Barcelona this year? And considering yesterdays results does this mean we are good enough for mid table in La Liga?
@65 no scottish team will ever play in the English leagues because they would lose their entry into european com petitions even if they finished in a qualifying position, and why should they be allowed into the EPL without gaining promotiom through leagues 1 2 and the championship
@64 Im a bhoy, but you see more empty seats at Parkhead than Ibrox as its 10k higher capacity + higher ticket prices. If prices had been reduced this year we would prob been able to fill these seats during a time when cash is tight for a lot of people. Regarding the share issue, the amount raised back then is all the more impressive compared to the rangers figure taking inflation into account.
The sooner Rangers and Celtic get into the EPL, the better. Survival is the name of the game for too many EPL teams and too many games are wars of attrition. Yes both the Scottish teams are poor now but with the TV money would put up a real challege. Rather them than Stoke,Everton,QPR,Sunderland. etcRemember its not what the fans want, its what SKY want.
Not so much the attendance comparisons which in terms of revenue generated, provide much less for Rangers than Celtic. The other factor is how the different sets of fans responded in crisis. Celtic fans generated around £10m at the point of their share issue post-McCann, Rangers however had a disappointing share issue and only managed around £5m from fans.So much for the commitment of Bears
@60: no I didn't. From the number of empty seats at Ibrox (and Hampden - not quite the massive away support that was claimed), it's been clear to see that attendances have been exaggerated. One doesn't have to be a Celtic fan (which I'm not) to have observed that. Even Rangers fans I know admit this. However, fair play to your club's support for still attending in huge numbers.
" ... hooper isnt even that great but deserves better than celtic a team who think they are great but really arent."I 'totally agree'. After all, just because we've beaten Barcelona on the way to making it out of the group stages, something that super rich clubs like Chelski and Man City failed to do, you know, who do we think we are?! LOL. We ought to know our place, so on and so forth!
Why is there even any introduction to how many people are going to watch the reformed Rangers into this discussion? Nobody actually cares other than them banging on about it. More cheap season tickets sold than in a year when the former club was desperate for money before dying. I thought the new Rangrs fans were boycotting the bbc anyways? Why are you here?
