Shrewsbury and Bury played out a goalless draw as the Shakers' winless run was extended to nine league games.
Joe Skarz forced Chris Weale into a sharp save from a free-kick, before Steven Schumacher saw his shot blocked by Shrewsbury debutant Yado Mambo.
The visitors continued to have the better chances and substitute Andy Bishop hit the bar from close range.
Dave McAllister's deflected shot hit the bar from 25 yards for the hosts, but neither side could find a winner.

Shrewsbury manager Graham Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire:
"We were full of anxiety today and this is creeping into our game here at home. We are a better team than that.
"It was a real battle out there, Bury had a good formation, and it was difficult to play through them.
"It was never going to be easy against Bury, and we looked over cautious on occasions. We didn't take the opportunity to shoot - and that is always a concern when you aren't scoring goals.
"We made changes in the second half - but we didn't look like we were going to get a goal today."
