Amazing. I look at the video & clearly see the (overweight?) BallBoy taking a dive over the ball, intending to smother it for a while with his already substantial gut, in order to run down the clock. After Hazard deftly kicks the ball out from under him, the ballboy puts on an Oscar winning acting performance, feigning pain. The FA look at the exact same video & see a footballer attacking a child

The ball-brain, I mean ball-boy, should be sent to develop his skills at Cardiff City.
2201.GoFigureMeanwhile the sneaky, conniving empty-head who actually caused this situation is not looking at any sanction at all from either his club or our hopeless FAWhy his SCFC are not sanctioning this wombat is beyond meYou would have thought that they'd have taken swift 'internal' action to pre-empt the obvious 1 year ban from all football grounds he should getFA & SCFC are rubbish
Really cannot believe I have to coexist with the liberal pondlife who have supported the 17 Yr old. Hazard kicked the ball out from under him. What a truly appalling group of people the FA are. I suggest Swansea, the FA, the ball boy be posted to Afghanistan to learn a bit of reality. Oh and the sandal wearers.
What was the ballboy playing at? Giving a red card was a stupid, idiotic decision. I'd have kicked him into next week.Hazard should not have apologised, he didn't do anything wrong at all. That ref should be struck off
Those people so deluded as to have seriously suggested Hazard would or should face assault charges appear to have a big slice of humble pie to eat.The chance of any of them recognising that is has got to be slim to none.Whilst there is an argument the red card should be rescinded the chances are he'll get the one extra game ban so the FA can be seen to have dealt with it.What a farce.
The whole thing makes me seetheSensationalist reporting by BBCRubbish FA decision to charge Hazard as well as red cardRubbish Swansea decision not to punish ballmanbumpkinboyRubbish FA decision not to ban ballmanbumpkinboyRubbish comments about stuff, other than Hazard & ballmanbumpkinboyIMOHazard should contest stupid FA chargeballmanbumpkinboy should have years ban from football
England Woman's Netball beat Australia, the first time in years, on the same night. An achievement overshadowed by an overpaid footballer kicking a silly little ball boy. Just shows how sad Football really is!!Red card for Hazard enough!!! Ball boy should be banned. Period. Get a life people!!!
2197If he does something as utterly idiotic and provocative as the ball boy then yes by all means, kick him. As long as you kick him a lot harder than Hazard did.If someone's mother does not teach one proper manners then someone's gotta do it, right?
@2184 Barton's a thug anyway, so why wouldn't he kick someone s hard as possible. But, please, if this was an appropriate response, seriously, can I kick you in the same way? After all, it's perfectly acceptable. Idiot.
To add to the hysteria surrounding an incident no worse than probably occurs in most schoolyards every day - how long before the "Society for Welsh Ball Boy Lawyers" or similar, condemns this as a racist attack?
Eden Hazard perhaps made the wrong decision to attempt to retrieve the ball the way he did. But the situation is unprecedented. Clubs should never cynically encourage ballboys to timewaste. But which professional footballer has come across a ballboy that deliberately prevents a player from retrieving a ball and then feigns injury whose cheating was apparently pre-meditated?
It is a sad indictment of the state of the game...imagine, melodramatic acting from the ball boys....anyone who has actually played the game sees the ball boy for what he is...those Swansea players that responded as if an ACTUAL assault had occurred should be ashamed! The F.A needs to display enough balls to respond properly. Call the ball boy what he is...a melodramatic ninny.and let's move on.
How can Michael Owen blame the ball boy? Children regularly see premiership players play acting to get a free kick or an opponent booked? How often has this ball boy seen players suddenly recover from a match ending injury. Children copy role models - hero footballers in the top tier of the game. Look at yourselves and reflect on the effect you are having. You create these behaviours, no one else.
FA should also charge Swansea with a breach of rule E20(a). It requires clubs to ensure its staff (inc ball boys) act responsibly and refrain from provocative conduct.
Where are the sanctions against the ball boy who was blatantly time wasting and feigning injury and the match officials who were oblivious of what was going on until it was all over?
