Struggling Barrow narrowly defeated promotion-chasing Luton to climb to within two points of safety.
Adam Boyes grabbed what proved to be the winner after just five minutes when he fired home from inside the area.
Ronnie Henry, Greg Taylor and Andre Gray all came close for the Hatters, who only last week knocked Premier League Norwich out of the FA Cup.
But late on they had Lathaniel Rowe-Turner sent of for violent conduct, as the hosts held on for victory.

Luton manager Paul Buckle told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"We've got to take it on the chin, the players have been a different class of late but today we've let ourselves down.
"We're not that good that we can gift a goal and then come back.
"It's a horrendous error (from Greg Taylor) and there's not a lot I can do about that other than change personnel.
"We have to have a back four that's happy to head it. If we don't get that we won't get promoted."
