Carlisle beat 10-man Stevenage to record their third win in four matches.
United started brightly and went in front through Rory Loy's header in his first home start after over a year out recovering from a broken leg.
The lead was soon doubled thanks to Lee Miller's penalty after Loy was brought down by Stevenage goalkeeper Steve Arnold, who was sent off as a result.
The visitors got one back through Marcus Haber's close-range header but Carlisle took the points.

Stevenage manager Gary Smith told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"The way the game was officiated, we are all bitterly disappointed about. For the first goal the linesman's got his flag up.
"Of course at 2-0 with 10 men it's going to be incredibly difficult, but it should never have got to that point.
"Bad start, poor officiating, definitely not what you want on a long away day."
