To the Best manager in the world“You're off to Great Places!Today is your day!Your silverware is waiting,So... get on your way!”
@336 all the time BBC did was tell the truth about fergies son and he spat his dummy out and wouldn't speak to them now they are scared of him. Rumour has it that fergie doesn't use toilet paper anymore he just calls someone at the BBC to come round and lick it clean.
Good for the BBC. I remember that the corporation was in trouble with Sir Alex a few years ago. It's great to have him on screen and providing his insights from his position. He is a substantial figure - I could use the phrase "an Icon" - in the footballing world and we need to hear more from him.You bloggers, Please stop the anti nonsense, it's just not cricket!
@332 Morning Dan. The reason a thread like this seems to create so much anger is the FACT that there are hardly any Utd threads to comment on, Yet yesterday city get beat 2 threads straight away, LFC get beat the same, however if Utd get beat of Fergie says something stupid no threads appear. The recent LFC threads with over 1200 comments were just filled with hate from Utd no debate. Utd bias?
What a legend that man is.
Oh how I laugh at all the bitters and non reds who hate united, the same ones who chant stand up if u hate man u at england games yet (at 1 point) had 7 utd players in it. I remember 96 (I was in Bosnia) sending a letter to fergie asking him to stick with it and forget the bad press at the time. TF he did!!!!
AfternoonGood to see the rage still flows from some but thanks for all your comments. No, it's not a Fergie 'love in' but rather a rare interview with a bloke who happens to generate strong opinions all round.Hopefully we'll do a few more long form interviews soon and I look forward to being accused of 'insert team' bias when we do the next one. Thanks again.Ian Woan
To all those deriding the BBC journalist for giving Sir Alex softball questions:What would you have him do?"Sir Alex, thanks for doing this interview today. My first question is this: Does being nasty to referees not make you feel ashamed of yourself?"Maybe you want Paxman or Kyle to do the interview.
Thought he came across well in the interview. He definitely has a work persona the rubs people up thee wrong way but it gets results for his team/employers. If you hate him, it means hes done his job in winding you up at some point in the past. He wins cos you are meaningless to him!
@328. someone as allready said its like talking to a brick. dont waste your time on the idiots.
All the people crying about the BBC being MU and SAF biased... don't read it then. Fergie is a living legend of football why would they not publish an article hearing his thoughts? Many people are interested to hear him, and if you're not, don't read it. Bitter fans of bitter, unsuccessful clubs...
@ itsonlyme I doubt youve even known the bad times at man utd or maybe not even even been to old trafford? the bad times. Ive been and i dont even support man utd. Im here to give credit where credits due to sir Alex. well done old son alas youll never be our manager. Kudos
Why don't they just rename the bbc to mankers buttock kissing ? Never has some much fawning been done to a manager of a team. It is downright embarrassing, especially as old red nose refused to talk to the bbc for criticising his idiot b son a while ago. Typical of this mank centric organisation. Still give the mankers something to watch whilst they eat some findus.
@321:Tell us what the banner said. Dying to know. You can't leave us in limbo.
As a result of the football focus TV interview of SAF, we now have a further 2 articles on the BBC football page. Do we have any other articles or forums as a result of the programme? No, just on SAF. The bias displayed towards reporting on anything MU or SAF on here is ridiculous.
@320. Nice to see such mature content in your reply. Pray tell, what exactly is a div??.
Talk about fawning.
Cant argue that he's won more than any other manager FACT.Cant argue the utd fans wanted him out after 3 years FACT.Would any of you utd fans like to tell us what that banner said in the stretford end circa 89/90.It might be a struggle for some of you who came to the fold a little later.
