Mansfield remain only three points of the play-off places following a narrow victory over Hyde at Ewen Fields.
The Stags wasted a number of chances in the first 45 minutes with winger Colin Daniel missing the easiest of them from the edge of the six-yard box.
Striker Louis Briscoe scored just 12 seconds into the second half finding the the top corner.
The result means Scott McNiven's Hyde have picked up only one point from their last seven games.
